Verses that paralyze demons
Verses that paralyze demons (according to Charles Spurgeon)
James 4:7 Submit yourself, therefore to God; resist the devil and he will flee from you.
According to Spurgeon, this verse is neither a suggestion nor promise, but rather a divine command from God.
The devil, and all demons are subject to the authority of Christ, and when believers stand in that authority, demons must flee.
The power of this verse is in the submission of ourselves to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Luke 10::19 Behold, I have given you authority to tread upon serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall injure you.
This is a command of authority given by the One who has claimed all victory on the Cross of Calvary. All enemies are under the authority of, and subject to, the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
We have the power and authority, not because of who we are - - but, because of Whose we are! You, as a believer, are a “child of God”.
1 John 4:4 You are from God, little children, and have overcome them because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.
