The difference between Godly and ungodly wisdom

We often have times in our lives where we need to know God’s will for a decision that we face.  If you are like me, you often think to yourself “I want to KNOW God’s wisdom on this, and don’t want to be lead astray.”  How can I be sure that I am hearing God’s wisdom?    I have found that God gives me the answers in His word.

James 1:5 promises that we can ask God for His wisdom - and that He will give it.

Proverbs 15:22 tells us to seek the “counsel of many” Godly brethren.

Another key concern is to consider what God tells us He is “like”.    I Corinthians 14:33 says “For God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, as in all the saints.”    Then 1 Corinthians 14:40 tells us “but let all of these things be done properly and in an orderly manner.”

James 3:17 states “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, unwavering, without hypocrisy.”

To sum up - - how can I tell if something is from God, or not?  I simply assess whether there is an air of peace or gentleness surrounding it – or is it rife with chaos and disorder?  God is a God of order and peace; of gentility and structure - - - there is nothing chaotic about how He goes about something - - or how He deals with something……if it is filled with chaos, I KNOW where it is being generated from - - and it’s not God.

I pray peace and God’s Wisdom upon each of you as you SEEK FIRST THE THINGS OF GOD!!!
