Hebrews 9:18

Pam and I went to give blood the other day. My iron was low, so they rejected my blood. It amazes me that most of history records mankind has performed blood sacrifices. Even Buddhist enter an agreement with the chicken saying, I am going to kill and eat you for your own good, so you can return a higher life form. Of course, some people, Buddhists, or not eat no meat at all. I was thinking about Cane and Able. In today’s world things have not changed. There is a way to approach God, but God sets the standards. Hebrews 9:18 Therefore not even the first covenant was dedicated without blood.
The Old Testament blood had standards set in place by God. God also set the standard for the New Testa- ment. The old was a picture of what was to come in the new. Religion rejected God’s way then and rejects this truth today. Our blood contains sin and is rejected by God. But the blood of Jesus is the very blood of God that makes the sinner clean. People we need to repent and accept in our heart that Jesus is the only way to the Father. To repent is to enter an agreement with God that we have sinned and a willingness to be changed by God’s Word and Spirit. JESUS said we must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. Jesus paid it all and it is finished!
