BUT GOD!
And you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, of the spirit that is now working in the sons of disobe- dience. Among them we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest. But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)
Ephesians 2:1-5
The Bible makes it extremly clear that we are sinners! But the good news is that it doesn‘t stop there. Paul writes these things about how we were dead in our sins, followed the world, and were disobedient doing what we desired. BUT GOD. Two of my favorite words in all of the Bible are these two right here. The truth is we are sinners and we are in need of a Savior. God makes us aware of that but doesn‘t leave us stranded as sinners, he leaves us the solution to the problem of our Sin and that is God sending his son to live a perfect life, to die an innocent death on the cross, and raise from the dead so that we can have the hope of heaven and eternal life. All we have to do is believe those words BUT GOD!
