In God We Trust

Powerful words to live by.  Our country only began printing these words, In God We Trust on all the paper currency in the United States in 1956 under the direction of President Eisenhower.  It was the official motto of the U. S. urged by many many devout citizens after the Civil War in 1862.  There are other powerful mottos that should also give great strength and conviction to us all, such as “One Nation under God” and “God Bless America”.

In Proverbs 28:25 He who is of a proud heart stirs up strife, but he who trusts in the Lord will be prospered.  Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe.

Our own fear of others can hinder everything we attempt to do.  Fear can be all consuming, yet in stark contrast, fear of God is liberating and stops our human limitations and thoughts.  Why fear people who will never be able to do any eternal harm?  Instead trust in God, take the anxiety and distress thrown at you by other people into good for all of us who trust him, Our Lord and Savior.

Psalms 9:10   And those who know Your name and will put their trust in You; For You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.     God will never leave those who reach out and seek him.  God doesn’t promise that we will escape suffering and loss but it does mean God will never leave us no matter what we encounter and face. In God we trust.  Words to live by.

Be Blessed

David
