Genesis 12:1-3

“Now the Lord had said to Abram: ‘Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse him who curses you; and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed!’”

Genesis 12:1-3
God’s plan and work of salvation is present from the beginning of the Bible, and is consistently worked out by God from genesis all the way through to the coming of Christ!
God placed a calling on Abram. He called him to trust and obey, and He promised both to bless him and to use him to bless others! Abram obeyed and God Eventually changed His name to Abraham, and he became the father to the Israelites! They were blessed by God and cared for by Him! But not only that, through Abraham’s obedience God has blessed us all, as Jesus was born a descendant of Abraham!
God is faithful to keep His promises always, and all of the Old Testament is preparing the way for and looking ahead to the coming of Jesus! May we continue to follow Abraham’s example of trust and obedience, as we live through Christ, God’s promised blessing!
