1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
1 Corinthians 10:13
During this life you might be tempted a time or two. That is a massive understatement. Everyday you will face a flurry of temptations that you may feel like overcome you. Overwhelm you. Overbear you. But here in this verse the author writes about a power that we have access to. A power that we can rely on. We can know that no temptation has the absolute power to overtake us. Sometimes our flesh gets in the way but we have the power to overcome that temptation. That power is through Jesus that lives in us. One thing I love about this verse is He will always make a way of escape. There is no excuse when we fall to sin because God made a way out. either we didn’t want his way out or we didn’t look for it, regardless it is there. Just like Joseph, when Potiphers wife came up to him seeming like there was no escape but God gave him a way out. Was it all perfect for Joseph. No, there was pain, loss, and sacrifice, but he honored God. Which later on God blessed him for. And that is what it is about giving God the glory.
