Expecting the Return of Christ
We all have times when we are going to host visitors, whom we have not seen for a while. As the time nears, we make plans, get the house ready, the guest rooms cleaned and prepped, groceries and supplies stocked, and we eagerly await their arrival. How much more should we be eagerly awaiting the return of our Lord and Savior?Matthew 25:1-12 tells the story of the ten virgins who were awaiting the return of the bridegroom. Five were fully prepared and waiting in anticipation, while five were not, and missed the celebration.
Matthew 25:13 states “Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day or hour.” (NAS version)
Matthew 24:10; 2 Timothy 3:1-4 and Romans 1:29-30 all speak to “the last days” - - can you NOT see our current environment in those verses?
Are we? Am I? - - prepared and eagerly waiting HIS return?? Am I doing everything possible to see that as many as possible hear about Jesus before that day and hour? Even so, Lord Jesus, come soon!
