How we as followers are to live in a godless age
Our forefathers lived in a world governed by the consensus that God‘s laws and the teachings of Jesus Christ were the appropriate rules for life and relationships. But that has become a thing of the past. The remaining question is how we as followers are to live in a godless age. Should we stand on the rim of the arena of our society, waving our Bibles in the air and shaking our fist in angry condemnation toward those who aggressively advocate all that is evil? How do we catch the attention of the world? A world that is hostile yet increasingly hungry, needing desperately to know the redemptive cleansing of Jesus Christ? Scripture says that it is through lives so well lived that a watching world cannot help but notice the compelling stories told through the excellence of our lives regardless of the pressure. Lives that have hope in the midst of hopelessness. Families that find joy and love in each other. People who radiate peace in the storms of life. This is the power of light and salt in a dark and unrighteous world.
1 Peter 2:12 says keep your behavior excellent among the gentiles, so that they may on account of your good deeds glorify God.
