Following God at all cost

Im going to let y’all into my morning devotions recently and how God has been speaking to my heart. I am currently in the book of 1 Kings and God gave me such a wonderful re- minder the other day about following him fully no matter the cost. In the book of 1 Kings it is exactly as it sounds, a book about Kings, and of course a number of other things. And not just any kings but kings over Gods people. Which is an important job that is not taken lightly. But when these kings are introduced in the Bible talking about when they reign the author specifies whether that king did what was right or what was evil in the sight of the Lord. Where I’m reading Asa comes into reign over Judah and in a sense purifies the land and the people. He removes idols and images from the land. He banis- hed those that corrupted the land. How many of us are in need of a cleansing. Are there things in our life that don’t allow us to fully follow God. Are there distractions in our life. Let us like this king remove those things and follow God at all cost.
